CBT

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a talking therapy that looks at our thinking processes (cognition’s) and the impact that this then has on how we feel, physically and emotionally and how we then react to the situation/experience (behaviour).

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) uses a practical approach in which the therapist helps the client understand the relationship between beliefs, feelings, and thoughts and the effect these have on behaviour patterns and actions. The client learns that his or her perception will directly affect his or her reaction to certain conditions and circumstance and that this thought process is at the root of his or her behaviour.

CBT is a working relationship and together we will identify the difficulties that you would like to work on. Through this a treatment plan is formed and you will be invited to use therapeutic tools and techniques to help challenge these personal difficulties, working towards the goals that you would like to achieve.

The therapy aims to focus on your needs and help to build on your own personal therapeutic toolbox to enhance and promote your well-being. Throughout the therapy we will together explore what your problems are and develop a plan for tackling them. Within the sessions I will introduce therapeutic tools and interventions and you will be invited to do out of sessions exercises that are based on compassionate and mindfulness models - this will aid you to have a better understanding of your difficulties and help you to become your own therapist.

CBT can help people who are experiencing a wide range of mental health difficulties such as;-
